Hendon progressed to the quarter-finals of the Middlesex Senior Cup this evening after beating Uxbridge 4-2 in a penalty shoot-out.
After a goalless 90 minutes, Uxbridge broke the deadlock in the 101st minute when Tom Willment scored. However, the Greens fought back and equalised after 109 minutes when Junior Lewis scored his first goal for the club since his return. His last goal was on 27th April 1999 - 4606 days ago. With no further goals, the tie went to a penalty shoot-out.
Jamie Busby, Michael Lewis, Mustafa Mirzai and Jerome Federico all converted their spot kick, and as James Duncan and Howard Hall both hit the woodwork with their efforts (Max Howell and Hussein Warsame scoring theirs), it was Hendon who progressed.
Our opponents for the quarter-finals will be either Hanworth Villa or Hillingdon Borough. They are due to play next week as their game tonight was postponed as Hanworth have an FA Vase replay tomorrow evening at Herne Bay.
