Hendon won for the first time in seven matches this afternoon as they beat Canvey Island 1-0, thus gaining some kind of revenge for the FA Trophy defeat three weeks ago.
Both Frank Sinclair and Darren Currie made debuts in the starting line-up, and with Isaiah Rankin on the bench, this was surely one of Hendon's most experienced line-ups to take the field.
The goal that turned out to be the decisive one came in the 49th minute when Rankin turned the ball home from an Elliott Godfrey pull back.
Canvey had their chances, but were unable to find the back of the net, with the Hendon defence and keeper Sean Thomas in fine form.
