Despite a disappointing first hour, Gary McCann was pleased that with the way the squad responded to win at Maldon & Tiptree yesterday afternoon.
"I don't think there were too many composed performances out there, especially in the first hour", he said, "but we definitely didn't deserve to be behind at half-time.
"The turning point was Sean Thomas's point blank save early in the second half, and after we scored, the performance was much better. It would have been very hard to come back from two goals down.
"It was another potential banana skin, especially as Maldon are much better than their lowly league position suggests."
