Hendon lost their second game in as many months to Canvey Island this evening, this time going down 3-0 at Vale Farm. The Islanders were good value for their win, while Hendon struggled to get started and retain possession. However, it wasn't until just before halftime that the deadlock was broken - Craig Vargas' attempted header back to James Reading being intercepted by Jason Hallett, who made no mistake in putting the visitors 1-0 up.
The second half started much as the first had finished, with the Gulls holding the upper hand, and it took just seven minutes for Hallett to double the lead and a further seven before his hat-trick was complete. The Greens rallied somewhat in the last 25 minutes, and held onto the ball better, but rarely posed much of a thread on James Russell's goal - the visiting 'keeper barely having anything on target to deal with.
