Hendon slumped to their worst defeat under Gary McCann's reign this afternoon at Lowestoft Town, and indeed their biggest since a 9-1 defeat at Leyton-Wingate in February 1988. The home side made their intentions clear early on, opening the scoring in the fifth minute through Michael Frew before Matt Nolan doubled the lead on 16 minutes. The Greens managed to keep the Suffolk side at bay until just before halftime, but a 44th goal from Joe Francis and a second within a minute from Nolan meant game over before the second half.
Lowestoft continued in the same vein after half-time, Scott Mitchell adding one just after kick-off, before Belal Aite-Oukarim pulled one back for the Greens in the 53rd minute. The hoped for come-back failed to come though, with Russell Stock opening his account on 65 minutes and then James Burgess putting one in his own net with just 10 minutes to go. Stock made it eight with a quick goal after the restart to finish the scoring.
