The first team face their longest ever league away trip tomorrow as they travel to Lowestoft Town, a journey that is marginally longer than trips in the past to Yeovil Town.

Lowestoft, who have been promoted twice in the past two years, have made an excellent impact on the division this season, and have been in the championship race since the beginning of the campaign. However, a recent run of results has seen them draw four and lose two of their last six league games, the two defeats coming against Tooting & Mitcham United and Sutton United. Most recently, they drew 1-1 with fellow high flyers Kingstonian on Tuesday night.

The two clubs have met just twice before, both coming in cup competitions. The first meeting was in September 1989 in the FA Cup when the Greens ran out 7-0 winners thanks to a hat-trick from Colin Tate, a brace from Gary Keen and goals from Uche Egbe and Greg Zacharia. The second meeting came last season in the FA Trophy when a 2-0 win was secured thanks to strikes from Dave Diedhiou and Lubomir Guentchev.

The squad will be in a buoyant mood following their excellent performance on Wednesday night to beat league leaders Sutton United, and they will be very keen to build on that result and secure further points tomorrow.

The kick off at Crown Meadow will be at 3.00pm, and we look forward to seeing as many of you as are able to make the journey there.
