Hendon were beaten at home in a league match by Maidstone United for the first time in just over 47 years this afternoon, with the Kent side winning 3-2. The Greens last lost at home to Maidstone in a league fixture in November 1963 when the Stones won 3-1.
It was a deserved win for the visitors, and although Hendon taking the lead through Aaron Morgan in the 20th minute, Maidstone were level a minute later courtesy of Nathan Paul. Shortly afterwards Tommy Whitnell gave the Stones the lead, and they led 2-1 at the break.
Hendon equalised in the 75th minute through Casey Maclaren, but any hopes of getting something from the game were dashed when Danny Hockton scored the winner for Maidstone in the 83rd minute.
