A Hendon side containing only 4 players from Saturday's victory over Slough progressed through to the second round of the League Cup after beating league newcomers Arlesey Town 4-3. Arlesey took the lead in the second minute before Bontcho Guentchev equalised, and Dale Binns put Hendon 2-1 up inside a quarter of an hour. David Adekola's first goal for the club made it 3-1 before Arlesey pulled another goal back just before half time. Binns then scored his second of the game after half time to take him onto 4 goals this season, now Hendon's leading scorer, before another Arlesey goal set up a frantic finale.
