Dagenham sealed their passage through into the FA Cup proper by beating the Dons 3-1. In doing so, they stopped Hendon from reaching the competition proper for the first year in five, and were the first non-league team in as many years to beat the Greens in the competition. Hendon got to grips with the heavy pitch quicker than the visitors and Ross Pickett secured a lead, sliding Haule's cross in at the near post. Dagenham however were quick to strike back, Drewe Broughton equalising. Two goals in the 66th and 69th minutes from Lee Matthews and Paul Terry killed of the tie.
