The Purfleet hoodoo struck again as Hendon lost once again to the Essex side. In fact Hendon have not beaten Purfleet in league action since October 1995. Hendon took the lead in the 22nd minute through Dale Binns, who hit a fierce drive past the keeper, and until Jamie Southon equalised just before half time, Hendon were looking comfortable. Purfleet were the better side in the second half, and scored a deserved winner through George Georgiou.
