This weekend sees the first team and reserves open their league campaigns. The first team travel to Purfleet on Saturday afternoon. The Thurrock Hotel has not been a happy hunting ground for the club, the last league win there coming in October 1995, back in the days of Mick Brown. However, the squad will be full of confidence after the win at Stevenage, and hopefully will be able to get the club off to a good start.
Meanwhile, for those that are unable to travel to Purfleet, and are still looking for a game, why not pop down to the LOOT Stadium and support the reserve team, who entertain Corinthian Casuals in their first game of the season in the Suburban League. Alan Rolnick and his players would be delighted to have some support from those who aren't at the first team game.
Also, don't forget that tomorrow evening, the Under 18 side, managed by Steve Neville, play against Wealdstone's youth side at Broadfields Sports Club in Harrow Weald, just off Headstone Lane. The kick off is at 6.30, so if you are not otherwise occupied, why not pop down and support the youngsters who are the future of Hendon FC.
