About a dozen supporters met with manager Dave Anderson last night to discuss the season so far, and what lies ahead for the club in an informal, friendly meeting. A number of topics were covered with many of the questions revolving around the players. In terms of the injured players, it is hoped that Iain Duncan will return to action around Christmas along with Ricci Crace, who happily doesn't require an operation on his injured knee. Gary McCann has returned to first team action by going on loan to Slough Town for a month, while Marvyn Watson will be returning to the club after this coming weekend, following his month on loan at Carshalton Athletic.
Chris Sparks will be leaving the club shortly as he is moving up north with his family. We wish Chris all the best for the future, and thank him for his efforts over the past few months. Coming in as a replacement is central defender Mark Cooper, who joins us from Windsor & Eton, having left Harrow Borough in the summer.
It was agreed that the players really appreciate the positive support that the supporters have given in recent games, particularly at Hitchin. Dave Anderson commented that the players appreciated the fact that they were applauded off the pitch at Hitchin, despite having lost the replay in extra-time. He also reiterated that not only do the supporters need to support the players when they are doing well, they also need to support them when the going gets tough.
It is currently planned that the next managers meeting will take place early in the new year - look out for details in the matchday programmes and on Greensnet.
