Hendon came away from their second preseason game with another win, this time beating Chertsey Town 2-1 at Alwyns Lane. Pat Sappleton gave Hendon the lead in the 42nd minute when he slammed the ball home from a Kieran Gallagher corner. In the 53rd minute Eugene Ofori scored after the Chertsey keeper flapped at another Gallagher corner. Chertsey replied in the 75th minute when Mark Lewis broke clear of the defence and chipped Dan Burton to score. The only new face this afternoon was midfielder Christian Metcalfe, who was with Farnborough Town last season. He will be quite well known to Hendon fans as he has previously been with Harrow Borough, Hayes, St Albans City and Aylesbury United.
