Hendon survived a scare at Bedford Town's New Eyrie ground this afternoon, running out 3-2 winners, but only due to a late goal from Paul Towler. Hendon started the brighter scoring their first mid-way through the first half when Ricci Crace beat the offside trap and followed it up by chipping the 'keeper. In the 36th minute, on loan Adrian Clarke played a cross-cum-shot into the box, only for it to deflect off Gary Williams for the Greens' second. Bedford, however, refused to give up in the second half, and goals in the 72nd and 80th minutes through Lee Howey and Gary Williams. However, a 89th minute cross from Eugene Ofori was slammed home by Paul Towler for a just about deserved victory for the Greens.
