Despite losing 4-1 to Stevenage Borough this evening, Hendon could hold their heads up high thanks to a good hard working performance. Stevenage fielded a side that was a mix of experience and youth and it was their class that showed through, particularly up front where they fielded the experienced Iyesden Christie. Stevenage took an early lead, but shortly before half-time the Greens scored the goal of the game when Sam Byfield fed the ball to Lubo Guentchev. The Bulgarian stopped the ball dead and allowed James Bent to run in and score with a very good strike. Stevenage restored their lead early in the second half, and scored further goals during the half. Hendon's best chances in the second period fell to Kevin Maclaren, who saw his piledriver tipped over the bar, and Dave Maissa Diedhou who saw his shot just tipped onto the post by the Stevenage keeper.
