Hendon cruised to a comfortable 4-1 win at Hanwell Town this evening with all the goals coming in the second half. Mo Stevenson opened the scoring shortly after the break with a cross/shot that looped over the keeper and into the net. In the 72nd minute Dave Hunt broke clear of a static Hanwell defence and finished well. Rob Haworth made it 3-0 a few minutes later, and then tapped the ball home from a couple of feet following a goalmouth scramble for his second and the Greens fourth. Hanwell were given a consolation when an Andy Cook backpass bobbled awkwardly in front of Luke Thornton and trickled into the net.
There were a couple more new faces this evening one of which was Scott Cousins, who was released by Chelsea this summer having made 27 reserve team appearances, while Mark Burgess is back training with the club having been with Aylesbury United and Wealdstone last season.
