The club have launched a new dedicated postponement answerphone and text service to hopefully make it easier for you to find out if a game is likely to go ahead or not.
We are aware that we are not always able to answer the main club number because of the number of other jobs that need to be done on a matchday. We are also aware that supporters are often unable to check the website or twitter feed for updates, and indeed that some supporters do not have internet access.
Therefore, we have decided to have a dedicated number that will be used purely so that people can find out if the game is on or not. This will operate for both home and away games.
If you call 07957 328352 on a matchday, you will be put directly through to an answerphone, on which you will have an updated message with details of whether there is a pitch inspection, or indeed a postponement. This number will only be operational on matchdays, and we ask that if you want to know whether a game is on, that you call this new number, and not the main club number. This will enable our matchday staff to concentrate on everything else that needs to be done before a game, and indeed in the event of a postponement.
We are also offering an SMS service, so that you get a text message when a pitch inspection is arranged, and as soon as we get a result of the inspection. This means that if you will get a message if there is a late postponement while you are travelling to the game.
If you would like to sign up for the text service, please either email the club on admin@hendonfc.net, or text or call 07957 328352 and leave a voicemail and we will contact you to make the necessary arrangements.
There will be a small charge for the text service to cover the costs of providing the service, and this is just £5.00 per season, and details of how to pay will be given to you when you ask to sign up.
Equally, if you would like to join, please speak to any member of the supporters trust board, give them the £5 and your mobile number, and they will ensure you are added to the service.
We hope that by providing this facility, it will make it much easier for people to find out if our games are being played or not.
