It's back to league action tomorrow afternoon as we make the trip to Mill Field to play Aveley for the first time this season. The Essex side have recently replaced their management team of Alan and Garry Kimble - the latter of whom made 10 appearances during the 1993/94 season for Hendon.
The Kimble brothers have been replaced by former Portsmouth and Manchester City striker Carl Griffiths, who played against Hendon for Leyton Orient in the FA Cup in 1997, and also for Braintree Town in the Ryman League.
Aveley picked up an important three point on Wednesday evening as they beat fellow strugglers Croydon Athletic 2-0, a result that moved them up to 20th place in the table. Both teams will be keen to pick up three points tomorrow, Aveley so that they can move away from the foot of the table, and the Greens will be looking to move back towards the play-off zone.
Last season, the Greens completed the double over Aveley, winning 4-1 at Vale Farm (Dave Diedhiou, James Bent, Danny Dyer and Peter Dean finding the net) and 2-1 at Mill Field (the goals coming from Casey Maclaren and Dean).
Supporters travelling on public transport will be pleased to know that London Underground is running a largely normal service, apart from on the Uxbridge branches of the Metropolitan and Piccadilly Lines. Supporters are advised to use C2C services from either Fenchurch Street, Limehouse, West Ham or Barking to Rainham. Trains run every 30 minutes, and leave Fenchurch Street at 05 and 35 minutes past the hour. The journey time to Rainham is just 22 minutes.
From Rainham Station, bus route 372 towards Lakeside leaves at 03, 23 and 43 minutes past the hour, with the journey taking 10-15 minutes. Buses stop near the top of the path to the ground. Return buses are at 06, 26 and 46 minutes past the hour. Oyster cards and Travelcards are eligible for use on both C2C to Rainham and on the 372 bus.
