Penalty enough to defeat Greens

Hendon lost this evening's encounter with Grays Athletic by a single goal, a second half penalty being enough for the Blues. While the Greens probably shaded the first half with the better chances the Essex side showed their intent with a number of shots, albeit not troubling Dave King too unduely. However, in the 56th minute a clear handball in the Hendon penalty area led to a penalty which Freddie Eastwood comfortably converted. The Don's woes weren't over either, as twenty minutes later Ricci Crace went into a challenge with 'keeper Mel Capleton late, and received a red card for his trouble.
