Hendon beat Bedford Town 1-0 this afternoon at Claremont Road courtesy of a penalty converted by Scott Cousins a minute into second half stoppage time. The penalty was awarded when the referee ruled that Pat Gavin had been upended in the area by a Bedford defender. The result was a bit harsh on the visitors who had worked hard and defended well. However it was Hendon that had the bulk of possession, and their best chance came midway through the second half when Ricci Crace sent Eugene Ofori clear of the defence, but he saw his lob go just over the bar.
