Hendon allowed Sutton to close the gap in the race for second place this afternoon with a 1-1 draw with St. Albans City at Claremont Road. The Saints took the lead on around the quarter of an hour mark, Lee Clarke putting away a cross from the left wing. The Dons failed to equalise until the 65th minute, despite twice hitting the woodwork before the break. However, the equaliser eventually came through Martin Randall, who headed home a Scott Cousins cross. The draw leaves Hendon just one point ahead of third place Sutton United and four ahead of Hornchurch and needing a victory at Kettering next week to try and win the runners up spot.
