Hendon manager Tony Choules wasted little time in setting lofty targets for his new team. Asked what his hopes for the new season were, Mr Choules said, "Let's go for the championship and promotion to the Conference. We'll set the target hit high."

The players started preseason training last night and the squad will have 10 days before the first preseason match. However a number of players are away on holiday at the moment.

Choules continued "It is normally the way with holidays, but when the players come back they will have to work very hard. I will rule with an iron fist. There are probably more preseason games than I would have liked but I will have enough time to be able to see what the players can do."
