Hendon came away from Chertsey Town tonight with a comfortable 3-1 victory in a game that beat the torrential thunderstorms that hit London today. After a very lively start, Hendon took the lead on the half hour mark when John Frendo took advantage of a defensive slip to slot the ball home. Two minutes later Matt Griffths equalised for Chertsey but shortly before half time Eugene Ofori restored the lead when he headed home a cross from James Burgess. The third goal came just before the hour mark when John Frendo scored his second of the evening, completing a great move involving Richard McDonagh and Dave Nolan. There was a pleasant surprise for the travelling Hendon support shortly after goal as the popular Ricardo Alves made his return to the club as a substitute.
