A late penalty converted by Mark Nicholls gave Hendon all three points this afternoon against Hampton & Richmond Borough. In a closely fought game, Hampton had a clear cut penalty shout turned down midway through the first half when René Street handled the ball on the line, and shortly afterwards the Greens had their own shout turned down when a Hampton defender handled in the area. In the 32nd minute Hampton took the lead when Luke Fontana took advantage of a slip in defence, but within three minutes Nicholls had equalised, firing the ball in low from an acute angle. There was very little in the way of clear cut chances in the second half, until Jamie Jarvis bundled Street to the ground to give away the spot kick.
