Hendon reached the first round of the FA Cup for the first time since 1999 this evening, following a 2-0 replay win at Metropolitan Police.
The Greens won the game with two goals in the first half, the first coming in the 28th minute when Belal Aite-ouakrim scored having been sent clear by a superb pass from Lubomir Guentchev.
The Bulgarian had a major part to play in the second goal, when his dummy left the home keeper and defence in a mess, and Casey Maclaren was able to slide the bal linto the unguarded net.
Despite a strong period of pressure in the second half from Metropolitan Police, the Greens held on for the win with a degree of security.
The next round sees us travel to Chelmsford City. The game will be played on Saturday 6th November, kicking off at 3.00pm. Full details of admission, and any coaches will be made available in the next few days. This in turn means that our league game at Tonbridge Angels has been postponed.
