Hendon exacted a sweet victory over last seasons' backroom staff with a 3-0 win at home to Ryman League newboys AFC Wimbledon. The Greens' best gate for a number of years, 1184, saw a fairly even first half, the away side nearly taking first blood when hitting the woodwork and Hendon contriving to put three good chances over Naisbett's goal.
However, it only took three minutes in the second half for the goal to come, Nicholls floating the ball right across the six yard box for Ofori to head home at the far post. Better was to come for the home side, as just three minutes later Nicholls took possession of the ball around 35 yards from goal, and after cutting inside drilled the ball past Naisbett from just outside the area. With the Surrey team still looking to equalise, but looking suitably unsettled, Hendon sat back a little more, but still looked dangerous coming forward as proved in the 83rd minute. Pickett was the provider this time as he fed the ball past the defenders on the 16 yard line for Nicholls to run through and score his second and seal victory for the Greens.
