Hendon went down to a 5-2 defeat at Heybridge Swifts this afternoon, thanks to a very disappointing second half performance in which Heybridge scored four goals. Had it not been for the efforts of Dave King and Mark Burgess, the scoreline may even have been worse. The Greens drew first blood as when a good passing move from defence ended with Eugene Ofori firing the ball into the corner of the net in the 15th minute. Heybridge equalised in the 38th minute when they broke away on the counter attack following a Hendon corner to score courtesy of Sean Marks. The Swifts took the lead in the 47th minute through a limping Carl Griffiths, and Gary Hill made it 3-1 in the 64th minute. The fourth goal was scored in the 80th minute by Adam Gillespie before Ofori scored his second of the afternoon. However, that was nothing more than a consolation as Scott Forbes scored a fifth goal shortly before the end to confirm what was a comprehensive victory.
