The reserves picked up their first win of the season at Aylesbury United this evening, helped by the fact that the strongest available first team side was fielded and led by the new management team of Gary McCann and Andy Pape. The final score was 4-0, and it was Eugene Ofori who opened the scoring after 54 seconds finishing off a fine move involving Dave Hunt and Dave Sargent. John Frendo hit a fine lob in the 10th minute to double the lead, and on the half hour mark Gary Meakin headed home a Sargent cross. The fourth goal was the best of the lot, coming in the 64th minute when James Burgess scored with a screaming drive from 25 yards. Dave King had just the one save to make and the result means the squad go into Saturday's crucial league game against Cheshunt with a suitable confidence boost. Both Richard McDonagh and Ross Pickett were unavailable through injury.
