Gary McCann suffered his first defeat as manager of Hendon as the Greens slipped to a 1-0 defeat at Leyton. The home side had the bulk of possession in the first half but were unable to create anything particularly clear cut. The same went for Hendon when they were able to make forays into the Leyton penalty box. Hendon started out much brighter in the second half and had a shout for a clear penalty turned down in the 60th minute when John Frendo was pushed in the back. The goal came in the 72nd minute when Leli Bajada headed home a free kick from close range as the defence momentarily lost concentration. The Greens worked hard to find an equaliser, René Street coming close with a header and John Frendo with a shot that flew just over, but were unable to find the crucial breakthrough.
