50 years after losing 2-0 to Bishop Auckland in front of 100,000 at Wembley Stadium, Hendon turned the tables with a 3-0 victory against the Bishops on a warm afternoon at Claremont Road. The Hendon line up included the returning Mark Burgess, Martin Vrhovski and Kieran Gallagher, along with trialists Tony Perfect, Kevin Chakaodza, Lamine N'Dour and Billy Matthews. The deadlock was broken in the 39th minute when Chakaodza scored with a beautiful chip over Bishops keeper Marc Riches. The lead was doubled soon after half time courtesy of a close range goal from skipper Ren Street and the third and final goal came five minutes from time when Tony Perfect fired the ball home from the edge of the eighteen yard box. It was a good workout for the Greens as they look to work hard to ensure a good start to the league season in five weeks time.
