The reserves put in a good performance against Clapton's first team this evening as they ran out 2-1 winners. The line up was mostly made up of members of last year's under 18 and under 16 teams, and they more than matched their more senior opponents in terms of strength and skill. The first goal came in the 11th minute when Christian Henao knocked the ball home after the Clapton keeper had kicked the ball against one of his defenders. The lead was doubled two minutes into the second half when captain Connor Carroll headed home from a long throw. Clapton were awarded a penalty with about ten minutes to go, but Siki Kambala made a good save with his feet before the home side scored their consolation with a scrambled effort shortly before the final whistle. Managers Mark Crawford and John Creith were delighted with the performance but both admitted that there was lots of work to do before the start of the season in a few weeks time.
