The reserves made the trip to play AFC Wimbledon this morning and went down to a 2-1 defeat, although the performance was much more promising than in previous games. The Wombles, who included former Greens Jon-Barrie Bates and Micky Woolner in their line up, took the lead in the 12th minute through Sonny Farr, but the Greens came back into the game during the first half. Their efforts were rewarded in the 65th minute when Daniel Duku fired the ball home for an equaliser, but within ten minutes the home side were back in front thanks to Mark King. Manager Mark Crawford was much happier with the performance, although there is still quite a bit of work to do as he prepares the squad for the new season.
