Hendon were made to pay this evening by the Metropolitan Police as a defensive error led to the only goal of the game. The goal came in the 20th minute when a poor clearance was sent back into the danger area and Craig Brown slotted the ball home. The Greens had plenty of possession but sadly the quality of the final ball in the final third of the pitch was lacking too often, and the Met's defence was all too rarely tested. The best chance for Hendon fell to Danny Julienne in the second half when his shot slid just wide of the post, whilst there was also a goalmouth scramble where the home side scrambled the ball clear at the fourth attempt. The defeat now means that the Greens have a blank Saturday on the 8th October as our league opponents Chelmsford City are still in the FA Cup.
