It has been very much a case of mixed fortunes for the youth teams over the past three weeks. The under 21s have played just once, winning 3-0 against FC Baresi in a league game. However, since then FC Baresi have withdrawn from the league and their record has been removed from the league table! There is some good news though as FC Baresi were our opponents in the league cup, and we have thus received a bye into the third round.
The under 18s drew 1-1 against leaders Parkfield in the league with Hamish Birrell on target, before losing last weekend to Brook House in the County Cup, Rory Lincoln and Leon Benjamin scoring the goals. The under 16s progressed in the league cup, beating Headstone Manor 3-2, Ben Gibson, Kamal McEwan and Tyrone Smith finding the back of the net. They then beat St Andrews by the same scoreline in the league, McEwan scoring a brace and Damilola Thomas scoring the third, but last weekend they lost on penalties in the County Cup against Hillingdon Borough following a 1-1 draw. Jurrell Thomas was the man who got the goal.
It's been tough going for the under 15s and under 13s. The under 15s were soundly beaten 13-0 by Wealdstone in the league cup, before a much improved performance against Headstone Manor B despite losing 5-0. They were then also knocked out of their County Cup by Whetstone Wanderers, going down 9-0. The under 13s have played just once in the past three weeks, losing 12-2 to Acton Ealing Whistlers in the league cup. Aaron Kwaceng and Ademola Alese were on target for the Greens.
