It was a disappointing start to 2006 this afternoon as Hendon were beaten 3-0 by Wealdstone. Richard Jolly gave Wealdstone the lead in the 5th minute after he latched onto a long ball from midfield, and while Hendon had chances to equalise they were unable to find the back of the net. The Stones doubled their lead in the 62nd minute when Andy Cook pulled down a Wealdstone player inside the penalty area and Jermaine Beckford cooly fired the spot kick home. The third goal came four minutes from the end when Gary Burrell slammed home a rebound. The result means that the Greens have now lost four league games in a row and the team will be keen to put things right next Saturday against Braintree.
