The under 18s failed to take their chances and thus missed the opportunity of inflicting a rare defeat on Cherry Red Books Middlesex League Senior Reserve Division leaders CB Hounslow United Reserves at Copthall on Saturday afternoon. Apacha Iyala should have scored a first-half hat-trick, but failed to beat the Hounslow goalkeeper with three attempts. Then, after 56 minutes, Ronnie Adjekwei hit a post. In the 72nd minutes, Chad Griffiths was ajudged to tripped an opponent in the penalty area and Hounslow converted the penalty. Eleven minutes later, the visitors doubled their advantage and, for all of Hendon's neat approach play, there was no end-product and they slipped to a 2-0 defeat. "We didn't take our chances today," admitted manager Mark Crawford. "We didn't play brilliantly, but I still think we should have won today. My man of the match was Francois Gabbidon."
