Hendon lost what is likely to be their last first team game at Claremont Road this afternoon 1-0 to AFC Wimbledon, the decisive goal coming on the hour mark when Richard Butler finished clinically to finish a swift counter attack down the right wing. Wimbledon had been dealt a blow on the stroke of half time when Scott Curley was sent off, for the second time in his career at Claremont Road, this time for an elbow. However, after the goal, the Wombles were able to shut up shop and despite lots of hard work from the Greens they were unable to get an equaliser. Results elsewhere this afternoon mean that Hendon have to win at Margate, and hope that results elsewhere go their way in order to stay up.
