The first team return to FA Cup action on Sunday afternoon as they entertain Maldon & Tiptree in the second qualifying round. Kick off at Vale Farm will be at 3.00pm.
Maldon began their campaign with a 4-2 victory over Hertford Town in the Preliminary Round, before winning 1-0 at Ilford in the previous round.
The club is now known as Maldon & Tiptree after Maldon Town and Tiptree United merged during the summer. We have never played Tiptree before, but played against Maldon in the league a few years ago, drawing both games. It was 1-1 at Claremont Road in October 2005, Jeff Campbell scoring the goal for the Greens, whilst Blaise O'Brien and Ross Pickett were on target at Park Lane.
Should the game end in a draw, the replay will be at Park Lane on Tuesday evening
Unfortunately there is considerable travel disruption again this weekend that may affect your journey to Vale Farm.
Most important is that East Lane is closed between Preston Road and Watford Road. This is the road that passes North Wembley station. It is expected that this closure will considerably add to the normal congestion found around Wembley on a Sunday. Traffic will be diverted along Watford Road, Harrow Road, High Road Wembley, Park Lane and Wembley Hill Road.
It also means that the 245 bus is diverted away from East Lane via Wembley High Road to Sudbury Town Station, and it will not be passing Vale Farm. The route for the 182 bus is unaffected.
On the rails, the Bakerloo Line and London Overground will not be operating north of Willesden Junction, although replacement buses will be in operation. We would advise any supporters travelling out of central London to use the Piccadilly Line to Sudbury Town - a normal service should be operating on that line.
There are also various closures on a number of other lines, including the Metropolitan Line south of Harrow-on-the-Hill, and the Jubilee Line north of West Hampstead.
We would advise all supporters, whether travelling by public transport or by car to allow additional time for your journey on Sunday.
