A poor display at the back prevented Hendon from taking anything away from Billericay this afternoon, as the home side ran out 4-2 winners. Despite a bright start from both sides, Billericay drew first blood, Billy Bricknell finishing a move in the 18th minute while Joe Flack doubled the lead just two minutes later, with the defending looking questionable both times. In the 43rd minute, Billericay themselves failed to clear their lines and Sam Byfield was fed the ball around 10 yards out in the left channel - the winger made no mistake in firing across Tucker and pulling one back for the Greens.
The home side clearly made better use of the half-time break as it took just five minutes for them to extend their lead. Flack drove the ball across the six yard box with Marc Leach looking to have got a final touch before the ball crossed the line. On 67 minutes, a flowing move saw huge gaps open up easily in the visiting defence, and Bricknell was sent clear giving Viner little chance to stop the fourth. The Greens continued to probe when they could, and got just reward ten minutes later as Haule found himself 5 yards out in the penalty area and in a position to slide the ball under Tucker for a consolation goal.
