Hendon won their second league game in a row, and in the process moved off the bottom of the table and within three points of safety beating East Thurrock United 2-1 this afternoon. Both Hendon goals came from the penalty spot, the first in the 29th minute when Brian Haule was pulled down in the area, and Dean Green converted the spot kick. Ten minutes into the second half East Thurrock equalised thanks to James Bunn, but within two minutes the Greens were back ahead as Green converted his second penalty after Lee O'Leary was pulled down just inside the box. The Greens then held on to win the game with the defence snuffing out anything the Essex side had to offer.
