It was a thoroughly entertaining game this afternoon at Claremont Road that saw Carshalton Athletic eventually run out 5-3 winners over Hendon. The Greens took an early lead through Belal Aiteouakrim, but Carshalton equalised through the superb Mark Marshall in the 14th minute. Three minutes later the Robins were ahead thanks to Adrian Toppin and in the 23rd minute Marshall took advantage of further poor Hendon defending to make it 3-1. Dean Green pulled a goal back for Hendon but before half-time Luke Fontana made it 4-2 and send the Robins in at half-time deservedly ahead.
Hendon were much improved in the second half and the ball spent most of the second half in the Carshalton half. The Greens were rewarded for their efforts when Brian Haule headed home a fine cross from James Burgess. Aiteouakrim then missed an open goal to equalise before Fontana completed the scoring in the final minute.
