In a hastily arranged friendly against landlords Wembley to give both sides some match practice after the weekend having been lost to frost, Hendon ran out 7-2 winners last night at Vale Farm. As in the pre-season game between the two sides, most members of the team got involved in the action in front of goal, with seven different scorers. Jamie Busby opened the scoring on 6 minutes, with James Bent following up just two minutes later. Wembley pulled one back in the 14th minute, but Harry Hunt restored the two goal margin on 37 minutes and Glenn Garner extended it in the 39th.
Brian Haule was next on the scoresheet, hitting the target in the 54th minute before Wembley replied two minutes later to leave the score at 5-2. Any thoughts of a comeback for the hosts were thwarted however, as goals in the 78th and 89th minutes from Lee O'Leary and Danny Dyer completed the scoring.
