Tuesday 27 November - Greens well beaten at Kings Langley

The first team were well beaten again this evening, this time going down 3-1 at Kings Langley.

It was another disappointing performance, compounded by the sending off of Luke Tingey in the 37th minute for pulling down Rene Howe in the penalty area.

Before that, Mitchell Weiss had given the home side the lead in the 25th minute, before Cole Brown equalised in the 30th minute. Tingey's foul led to Steve Ward converting a penalty kick so that the home side were in front at half time.

The ten men did battle in the second half, but chances were at a premium, and it was no great surprise when Luke Wade-Slater further extended the lead in the 72nd minute. The Greens best chance fell to Tyriq Hunte whose shot hit the post as the game moved into stoppage time.

Next up is a home game against Merthyr Tydfil. Kick off at SJP will be at 3:00pm.

Tuesday 27 November - Travel alert - Kings Langley

We would like to advise anyone planning to travel to Kings Langley that the A41 is currently closed northbound between M25 J20 and the Hemel Hempstead junction. This means that all northbound traffic is travelling through Kings Langley on the A4251. There are also some knock on delays on the M25.

Hopefully things will have improved and roads will be reopened by the time we travel to the game this evening, but we would advise allowing some extra time for the journey if you are able.

Saturday 24 November - Greens beaten at soggy Gosport

The first team came away from Gosport Borough empty handed on a chilly, wet afternoon on the south coast. The final score was 3-1, and the three points deservedly stayed in Hampshire.

However, had it not been for a string of good saves in the first 20 minutes from Pat O'Flaherty, the Greens could have been well in front. They did indeed take the lead, albeit by then against the run of play, in the 39th minute when Shaquille Hippolyte-Patrick added to his collection of fine goals this season. However, within two minutes Craig McAllister, who has been a thorn in the side of Hendon over a number of years, equalised for the home side.

The second half belonged to Gosport, and they took the lead in the 63rd minute through Tony Lee, who took full advantage of a rare misjudgment by Danny Boness, before securing the points late on when Patrick Suraci found the back of the net.

Next up is a much shorter trip, this time to Kings Langley on Tuesday evening - kick off is at 7:45pm.

Tuesday 20 November - First team play out a draw

On a cold wet night at SJP, the first team played out a 2-2 draw against Beaconsfield Town this evening.

The Greens drew first blood when Ricardo German scored having rounded the keeper, but on the half hour mark Jordan Ajanlekoko equalised. The visitors went in at half-time ahead after Brendan Matthew scored shortly before the break.

Jimmy Gray's charges fought hard to get back in the game in the second half, and were rewarded for their efforts when a fine move was finished off by German for his second goal of the evening.

Tuesday 20 November - Live update issues on twitter

We are aware that the live updates that normally appear on Twitter during games haven't been doing so in some recent games.

The tweets are automatically generated by the FootballWebPages system, and our team of supporters who update the system do so through the FootballWebPages app.

We recently received an email from FootballWebPages who are very much aware of the issue. They apologise for the issues and have assured us that they are working with Twitter to try and get it resolved as quickly as possible.

We would advise supporters who like to follow the live updates to either download the FootballWebpages app onto their mobile device, through which you can set up alerts when we are playing, or to log on to the FootballWebPages website during games where all the information should be available.

If you have any questions about the live updates, please email us on hendonfcwebsite@gmail.com.

Thursday 15 November - Under 23s win by odd goal in seven

The under 23s continued their winning ways with a 4-3 win at Harrow Borough to move to the top of the table despite being reduced to ten men in the first half.

The young Greens took the lead in the 10th minute when Riccardo Alexander-Greenaway continued his scoring form by converting a penalty. Harrow then equalised with their own penalty shortly before half-time.

The lead was restored by Khalil Francis early in the second half, and it was doubled in the 65th minute by Will Murphy. Harrow pulled a goal back with seven minutes to go, but just two minutes later Alexander-Greenaway scored his second penalty of the game to restore the two goal advantage. Harrow scored a third in the dying moments of the game, but the Greens were able to hold on for all three points.

Mention must be made of goalkeeper Daniel Purdue who made a world class save in the second half with a shot from outside the box that was deflected off our defenders head and going in the top right corner but somehow managed to adjust himself and was able to leap catlike across the goal and tip the ball over the bar.

Tuesday 13 November - Greens cruise to comfortable win

The first team had a comfortable 5-1 win over Staines Town this evening, with Shaquille Hippolyte-Patrick scoring his first hat-trick for the club.

The opening goal came in the 23rd minute when Gianni Crichlow delivered a superb cross for Connor Calcutt to slip the ball home, and that was the only score of the first half.

The second half opened in perfect fashion as Calcutt scored his second within a couple of minutes, and in the 54th minute Hippolyte-Patrick scored his first of the evening with an overhead strike.

Nine minutes later Hippolyte-Patrick scored his second of the evening, dribbling into the box and finding a route to goal. Staines pulled a goal back with ten minutes to go when Makhosini Ryan Khanye scored an excellent free kick, but within two minutes Hippolyte-Patrick completed his hat-trick with his second overhead kick of the evening.

The result moves the Greens up to 4th place in the table ahead of Saturday's trip to Tiverton Town.

Saturday 10 November - Last gasp goal knocks out 10 man Hendon

An injury time winner from Biggleswade Town ensured that the first team were to go no further than the second qualifying round of the FA Trophy at a very wet SJP this afternoon.

With heavy rain falling for much of the game, the first half was a goalless affair, but the Greens took the lead in the 48th minute when Shaquille Hippolyte-Patrick found the back of the net with a fine strike.

The Waders pulled a goal back in the 79th minute through Tom Smith, moments after Adam Pepera had been shown a straight red card for a challenge on former Hendon midfielder Matt Ball.

The winner came in stoppage time when Joe White, who scored a 5-timer for the Greens when on loan from Dagenham & Redbridge last night, saw his strike squirm through the grasp of Danny Boness and into the goal.

Tuesday 06 November - West Hendon Playing Fields survey

We have been requested to ask supporters if they would get involved with a survey they are running to gain feedback to their draft masterplan for West Hendon Playing Fields. These are the playing fields behind the clubhouse at SJP that run back towards West Hendon.

The Sport, Leisure and Culture Consultancy (SLC) has been appointed by Barnet Council to undertake an appraisal of the options available to the Council for the development and creation of sports hubs and associated community facilities at West Hendon Playing Fields, in line with the recommendations of the Parks and Opens Spaces Strategy and Playing Pitch Strategy. We previously asked for your thoughts on possible options for the area and, as a result, we have created a draft Master Plan.

Now, in Phase 2, this consultation is asking for your views on the draft masterplan for West Hendon Playing Fields. Specifically, we are seeking your views on: the facilities proposed within the draft masterplan, the layout and location of the proposed facilities within the draft masterplan, any comments you may have on the overall draft masterplan.

Please give us your views on the draft masterplan by completing the online questionnaire. We welcome responses from anybody or any organisation interested in the future development of the site, including those from outside of the area of Barnet Council.

Please click the link below to take you through to the Engage Barnet page, which will have the survey and the accompanying documents which you will need to view when responding to the survey. These documents are: the draft masterplan of West Hendon Playing Fields, layout of the community hub building and a document answering Frequently Asked Questions about the project.

The survey should take no more than 10-15 minutes. Please note the survey will close on the 2nd December 2018.

We are also hosting a drop-in session at West Hendon Community Hub on Tuesday 13 November (10.30am-12.30pm & 3.15pm-7.00pm) where people can come view the draft masterplan and provide feedback. Assuming we don't draw against Biggleswade Town on Saturday, this gives supporters a chance to call in ahead of our home game against Staines Town that evening.

Thank you in advance for your participation in the online survey. Please encourage any other people or organisations you know that would be interested in the future development of West Hendon Playing Fields to participate.

Saturday 03 November - Greens defeated at Salisbury

The first team suffered only their second league defeat of the season this afternoon as they were beaten 3-1 by in form Salisbury.

It was a disappointing performance by the Greens, although they took the lead through a goal from Connor Calcutt in the 9th minute. Elliot Wheeler equalised in the 39th minute, and Lewis Benson gave the home side the lead three minutes later.

The final nail in the coffin came in the 80th minute when Zac Kotwica scored the home side's third goal to secure all three points.
