Tuesday 27 November - Hendon comfortably through

Hendon are comfortably through to the second round of the League Cup after a 3-0 win at Hertford Town. Joe Nartey put the Greens ahead after 21 minutes, Simon Clarke heading a deep corner back into the penalty area to find Nartey who was left with little to do. Clarke was also instrumental in the second, which came after half-time in the 62nd minute. Clarke played the ball to an unmarked Bubb who drove the ball 20 yards into the net. Nartey got his second deep into stoppage time, Ruggles sending in a cross from the right which found Nartey unmarked and left him with a simple goal.

Saturday 24 November - Chesham leave happy

Chesham took all three points from this afternoons game with a 2-1 victory over an improved Hendon side. The Generals couldn't have got off to a much better start, with their first goal coming as Steve Darlington netted after only 2 minutes. However, the Greens battled hard and Steve Forbes scored from around 12 yards after a neat flick-on from Pickett. The game threatened to boil over several times, with hard challenges flying in throughout and both sides having similar numbers of chances. However, a Chesham cross in the 78th minute did little more than find Ross Pickett who unfortunately netted an own goal to leave the Greens pointless.

Saturday 17 November - Croydon grind out result

Croydon left the LOOT Stadium today with the satisfaction of knowing a job had been well done. The Trams stifled the Greens at every possible opportunity and kept the number of chances avaliable to the Dons to a minimum. Neither side had any clear chances in the first half, the only event of note being a booking for Croydon's Peter Garland for leading with his elbow. Only a few minutes into the second, Garland recieved his marching orders recieving a second booking for a foul on Bates. However, to Hendon's dismay, Croydon appeared to take the initiative for a short period and scored through Nic McDonnell. Hendon failed to find a way through Croydon's defence and had to accept their first home defeat to Croydon in 15 years.

Saturday 10 November - Hendon create new record

Hendon got the largest victory in any Isthmian league match played between the Greens and Enfield. The homeless side looked a shadow of previous E's teams, with Hook only being tested once and Hendon by far having the best of the game in their 6-0 win. Ofori started the scoring early on from 25 yards before debutant Steve Forbes was forced off with a pulled muscle. Two minutes later, Fewings put the Greens two up with a low drive and Ofori scored his second ten minutes into the second half. Byron Bubb scored with a low swerving free kick into the bottom corner for the fourth, whilst the fifth was a Simon Preddie own goal - the defender sliding in a Dale Binns cross. Joe Nartey capped his debut for the Dons with the sixth goal, outjumping Kenny Addai to a loose ball and scoring against the club that he only left this week.

Friday 09 November - Local derby looms for Hendon

One of the more eagerly awaited fixtures of the season is on the cards tomorrow as the first team travel to Boreham Wood to face local rivals Enfield. However, the crowd will be nothing like it used to as attendances have plummeted below the three figure mark for the E's following the defection of many supporters to the new Enfield Town club. Enfield are in a wretched run of form at the moment, having gained just 2 points from their last ten league games, so hopes will be high of a win for Dave Anderson's boys. Supporters are reminded that the game will kick off at 3.00pm despite the clash with the England friendly against Sweden. Beforehand the reserves play at home against Thame United, kicking off at 12.00pm giving supporters a chance to take in two games tomorrow.

Wednesday 07 November - Two new signings

The club have confirmed two new signings this morning. Joining from Enfield is experienced striker Joe Nartey, while joining from Dagenham & Redbridge is midfielder Steve Forbes. Nartey has scored 4 times in 16 appearances this season for Enfield, and will hopefully bring some much needed experience to our front line. Forbes was unable to sustain a regular first team spot with the Conference side, and recently spent a month on loan at Braintree Town. We welcome both players to the club, and hope that they have a long and successful stay with us. Both players are in line for debuts at Enfield on Saturday.

Tuesday 06 November - Five for the Greens

Hendon's reward for tonight's 5-0 victory over Kingsbury Town will be a visit to Walton and Hersham's Stompond Lane to play Staines Town in the 2nd Round of the Middlesex Senior Cup. Hendon were comfortable winners, with five seperate players finding themselves on the score sheet. Ofori was first to score in the 12th minute, with poor defending leaving him with an open goal to shoot into. Bubb made it two in the 37th minute, with a blinding 30 yard drive similar to that that Martini saved on Saturday. Haule scored in the 49th minute putting the ball under Philpott from 6 yards, whilst Binns drilled the fourth in from the edge of the box in the 68th minute. Binns created the last for Paul Fewings in the 81st minute, a high cross from the right giving the on-loan striker the simple job of nodding the ball into the net.

Saturday 03 November - Greens home double

Hendon secured an away trip in the second round of the FA Trophy with a convincing win over Sutton United today - the second home win over the U's this season. Hendon had the best of much of the game with numerous chances going begging, but Haule managed to score the vital first in the 43rd minute, cooly slotting the ball under Chuck Martini. Around ten minutes into the second half a 35 yard drive from Bubb was well saved by Martini, but rather than spurring Sutton on as it should have done, it merely served to brighten up the Greens, culminating in a 90th minute goal from Ross Pickett. Sutton managed to pull on back quickly through Paul Honey, but to little avail
