Match Report

The Town are at present engaged in the pleasant task of beating their previous records, both in the matter of successive wins, being beaten so far this season, and in attendances at the Avenue Ground.

The new covered stand which is now completed was well patronised last Saturday, and will add considerably to the comfort of visitors during the season.

Luton Trinity proved worthy opponents in the 2nd round of the Football Association Amateur Cup, the Town, however, being victorious by 3 goals to 0.

A strenuous and exciting first half produced no score, although Hampstead were on the aggressive from the start.

After change of ends G Garlick, who has been the recepient of more than careful attention from the opposing defence, scored with an excellent shot, which was applauded by the large crowd present.

Stimulatd thus, and continuing to monopolise the attack, the Town were not long in increasing the score. O James shooting a magnificent goal following some clever forward play.

Subsequently, H Ashman, the Town's burly centre half, put in a tremendous driver which the goalkeeper saved but was subsequently placed in the net by O James.
