Match Report

On Easter Monday morning Wood Green Town were the visitors, and the teams lined up before a record local crowd, who had been entertained while waiting by the Child's Hill Silver Band.

In four previous engagements in League and Cup competitions this season with Wood Green, Hampstead had gained the verdict, and in winning this match by 2 goals to 1 made themselves practically certain of the championship of the Premier Division of the Middlesex League.

The game was keenly contested in the first half, S Belsen netting for Wood Green, G Garlick shortly after equalising for Hampstead had the better of the game in the second half, their opponents goal having many narrow escapes.

Just on time and amid great excitement H Hyde gave Hampstead the victory with a fine goal from an equally fine centre by H Pike.
