Match Report

Hampstead Town secured three League points out of their Easter holiday programme of matches.

On Saturday, in a gale of wind, the club sustained the worst defeat in its history, being beaten by the smart St. Albans side at Clarence Park by six goals to none. The goals were obtained by H.E. Miller (3), W. Minter (2), and B. Butcher.

A fine exhibition of football was given by St. Albans against Hampstead Town on Saturday, with the result that the biggest defeat in the history of the Hampstead Club was sustained. The visitors were without the services of S.P. Briscoe and L. Vance, their deputies being O.C.T. James and L.C. Gould. Victory was not expected, although we hear that one of the Hampstead officials had a presentiment that two points would be picked up, but defeat by 6-0 was a real blow. St. Albans, however, were undoubtedly the sprightlier team. There was fine combination, and the shooting was deadly.
