Hampstead participated in another most enjoyable friendly match on Saturday, when they visited Redhill. The same team was selected as that which played against the 'Spurs the previous week, but a last minute alteration had to be made owing to Sid Smith, who was injured on Thursday whilst playing for the Arsenal, being unfit.

As Hampstead were unable to get in touch with Trevers, the reserve team goal-keeper, one of the reserve team stalwarts, C.E. Turner, donned the jersey. F. Young captained the team in Smith's absence and won the toss. Hampstead were early aggressive, and a shot from Limbrey which was crossing the goal-line was handled by a Redhill defender, and from the spot kick Shorland opened the score.

Hampstead was combining well and following a good triangular movement on the left involving Moore, Potter and Bucci, the latter scored with a fine cross-shot. Hampstead continued to do the attacking, Turner having little to do at the other end. Once, from a runaway by Wilkins, he left his goal and smothered the shot for a corner, and from the flag kick he cleverly fisted the ball clear. Evans gave Hampstead a three-goal lead from a centre by Gardner, and before half-time Gardner netted the fourth from a pass by Potter.

After the interval Redhill made determined efforts to reduce Hampstead's big lead, and this was soon forthcoming. Following heavy pressure L. Smith beat Turner with a good shot. A further goal soon followed from the same player, but Evans broke through for Hampstead and beat Rose with a fast rising shot. Webb, the Redhill back, then put in a high shot which Turner was unable to deal with. Ten minutes from time G. Smith scored for Redhill to make the score 5-4 in Hampstead's favour.

Following this last goal Hampstead went straight down the field and Evans put in a great shot which went just over the bar. Shorland was injured and carried off, but Hampstead held out to win a fine game by the odd goal of nine.
