We were given a nasty shock by Leyton in the FA Cup tie at the Hare and Hounds. The young players of Leyton led us a merry dance in the first half, Adams at centre-forward opened the scoring in the 27th minute and made it two shortly after, and it could have been three when he hit the crossbar and the ball was scrambled away.

Peter Slade and David Hyde scored one each within a minute to make us level at half-time.

We have Jimmy Quail to thank for getting us through to the next round when he scored a very good goal from a David Hyde centre.
