On Tuesday night when they visited Level 6 Rayners Lane of the Hellenic League Division One East. After a slowish start, the Greens took full control, eventually running out winners 6-0. Danny Edwards opened the scoring around the half-hour mark, finishing well after being put through by Lee O'Leary.

Wayne O'Sullivan followed with a quickfire brace, both excellent long-range efforts. Just before half-time, the score was increased to 4-0 when Steve Wickham made a fine save, but was unable to keep out the rebound knocked home from close range by Dean Thomas, hunting for scraps.

Rayners Lane made a host of changes at half-time, but could not get a foothold in the game. Hendon's passing and running was more than they could cope with and the speed of thought between Levels 3 and 6 was clear to see.

Greg Deacon arrived late at the far post to slide home goal number five, midway through the second half, and Jamie Busby added a sixth a few minutes later. Busby should have won a penalty when Wickham pulled him down as he took the ball past him, but the referee ruled a dive.

Indeed two or three other very good penalty shouts were turned down as Rayners Lane tried to keep up with Hendon players.

Anthony O'Connor did make a couple of good saves, but the game was little more than a glorified training exercise for the Greens.

Manager Gary McCann said of the performance, "We were far too good for them and we could have scored more than we did against Wembley. But we didn't have the composure I wanted to see and too often took the wrong options."
